Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to work with students with different traumas and have a better understanding of trauma and behavior.

This is for BD associates in secondary spaces. You will learn tools and strategies to help support associates work with SEL students. This training will focus on students who require a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). We will cover what a BIP is, how to read one, and how to ensure implementation. We will also build your toolbox with typical strategies that can be used in supporting students with explicit behaviors and learners that appear to be disengaged. Please bring with you a copy of a BIP from a student that you are currently supporting.

Happy, Relaxed and Engaged (HRE) in a term coined by Dr. Greg Hanley, PhD BCBA referring to a state in which a person is most ready to engage in new learning, with a primary focus on gaining HRE is individualized for each student. Associates can gain the skills and knowledge necessary to actively contribute to a classroom environment where students feel happy, relaxed, and engaged, promoting optimal learning outcomes.
